Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her Winona in honor of her hometown. Michel Horowitz' father was an editor and writer along with Cynthia Palmer and her mother. Ryder's dad came from a Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. The actress is the younger sister of Uria who is half-sister to Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder along with her whole family moved to California's Mendocino County in the year 2000, when Ryder was seven. The town didn't even have electricity. The books on television were the only way for Ryder for her time, and she began to read extensively. At the age of 12 Ryder was accepted into the American Conservatory Theatre to take acting classes. In the year she turned 15years old, Ryder was offered her first part on screen, in Lucas. Ryder was subject to bullying in highschool. Her thought was that by becoming an actor, her bullying could be reduced. It didn't turn out. The actress continued to chase her ambitions. She got her break in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in 1988. Ryder played parts that proved successful in various films. Ryder was nominated twice for Academy Awards one for her part on The Age of Innocence (1993).
