Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine has a unique style that combines R&B with gospel, soul music and R&B. Avery Sunshine has performed on Broadway and in festivals throughout Europe as well as her appearance at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was born Denise White. Although she is based in Atlanta however, her roots lie in Chester Pennsylvania. There she first began to develop an interest in music, as a singer and pianist at the church. She was a student at Spellman College and began to study the R&B styles of Atlanta. The Fighting Temptations The first single with her vocals was called Stalk You a house 12 issued only in Japan It has been remixed since by many producers and remains a staple in her live show. The singer has also provided her voice on The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. In 2005, she became the keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. In 2007 Grammy and Tony award-winning vocalist Jennifer Holliday sought her out to serve as the director of the choir for the theatrical production of Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine became the focus of interest during four consecutive shows at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was later invited to sing during President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009.
